More tips for filing insurance claims, contacting FEMA

There have been a number of efforts to reach out to flood victims with tips on how to seek compensation for damages. The office of Attorney General Bob Cooper has issued a series of guidelines for how to go about filing an insurance claim, getting with FEMA, documenting your damages, and so forth. 

“We want to make sure Tennesseans get the assistance to which they are entitled,” Cooper said. “It is against the state insurance laws and the Consumer Protection Act to deny your claim for water damage if your policy states that you are covered or to misrepresent the scope and coverage of any homeowners’ or flood insurance policy.”
