Bricks & Mortar: Lowe's for North Nashville

Home improvement retailer Lowe’s has begun building a 150,000-square-foot retail store in North Nashville.

The store will open late this year and employ about 175 people. Lowe’s says its total investment in the store will top $18 million.

Accounting firm preps move

Flow Construction Co. Inc. is finishing out the 10th floor at downtown’s SunTrust Plaza for accounting firm KPMG. The permit is valued at $1 million.

Aldi set for Gallatin location

Discount retailer Aldi will move into the former H.G. Hill store at 615 Gallatin Pike after Carden Co. Inc. rehabs the 18,000-square-foot space. The permit is valued at $900,000.

Two Green Hills retail jobs

Leopardo Cos. Inc. will renovate the Green Hills space that will house the first Trader Joe’s store in Tennessee. The contractor has pulled a $460,000 permit for the job.

A few blocks down Hillsboro, David Craig Construction will finish the renovation of 5,000 square feet of retail space at Hobbs Drive for King Jewelers. The contractor has pulled a permit for $235,000.

West End bank replacement

Civic Bank & Trust is moving into the former Regions Bank at 3325 West End. Wellspring Builders Inc. has pulled a $70,000 permit to clean up the space.
