Clayton Associates moves Allen, Rodgers in finance

Clayton Associates LLC, a venture capital firm, has named Nancy S. Allen director of finance for Clayton Associates Holdings LLC, the recently created holding company of the firm. Allen will oversee all aspects of the McWhorter Family Office, and will perform global tax and financial planning for Clayton Associates and its related entities. Allen joined Clayton Associates in 2000 as chief financial officer.

Allen worked in public accounting for 22 years prior to joining Clayton Associates, specializing in tax consulting for individuals and investment partnerships. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Allen was a founder in 1988 of the public accounting firm of Hill, Neal and Allen PC in Brentwood. In 1995, she became a partner at Heathcott & Mullaly PC, a Brentwood public accounting firm.

In addition, Clayton Associates has named Richard Rodgers to replace Allen as chief financial officer.

Rodgers will be responsible for the finance and accounting functions of Clayton Associates and its associated private equity funds. He will also be involved in performing due diligence and reviewing deal terms and structure.

Rodgers joins Clayton Associates from Infrastructure Corp. of America, where he served as chief financial officer. Prior to that, he worked with Rodgers Capital Group as an investment banker, raising capital for and working on mergers and acquisitions.

He holds a bachelor's degree in corporate finance from the University of Alabama and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Rodgers is a certified public accountant in Tennessee.

TherEX Inc. names Barnes director of human resources

TherEX Inc., a provider of rehabilitation management services nationwide, has announced the addition of Vincent Barnes as director of human resources.

Prior to joining TherEX, Barnes served as manager of human resources and facilities at Communication Test Design Inc. (formerly Nortel Networks LTD) in Nashville.

Barnes holds a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a focus in industrial relations from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, as well as a senior professional human resources certification.

Atkinson Public Relations promotes Atkinson to EVP

Atkinson Public Relations has promoted Brannan Atkinson to executive vice president.

Atkinson joined the firm in 1999 as a senior account executive. Since 2001, he has been a senior counselor. Atkinson manages a group of clients in health care, technology and automotive industries, and oversees the firm's finances and operations.

Before joining Atkinson, he served as public relations manager for the City of Richmond, Va.

Atkinson earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Richmond. He has also earned accreditation in public relations from the Public Relations Society of America.

Faulk, Cooper named vice presidents at BWSC

Kenneth L. Faulk and Daniel Cooper have been named vice presidents at Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon (BWSC).

Faulk, manager of the Nashville Environmental Operation Unit, has been associated with BWSC for six years. He has more than 29 years of environmental management and consulting experience. He has overseen a diversified consulting staff of more than 300 engineers, scientists and technicians to provide environmental assessment to the United States Department of Energy, U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Navy Clean Program, and other federal and state agencies.

Faulk is a professional geologist in Tennessee and earned his master of science and bachelor of science degrees in geology from Ohio University.

Cooper recently joined the firm's Montgomery, Ala., office as office manager. A registered professional engineer, Cooper brings 34 years of experience to the firm. He is the former General Branch chief of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.

Cooper earned his master of science degree in environmental systems engineering from Clemson University and his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Auburn University.

Crye-Leike appoints Niec director of communications

Michele Lee Niec has been appointed director of communications for Crye-Leike Inc. to oversee the company's public relations. Based in Brentwood, Niec is responsible for Crye-Leike's corporate internal and external communications and public relations, as well as media and community relations.

Niec brings to Crye-Leike more than 20 years of communications experience, most recently serving as manager of advertising and public relations for MAPCO Express Inc., and public relations coordinator for Tennessee Christian Medical Center.

York promoted to VP at Alive Hospice

Karen York has been promoted to vice president to lead the newly created Department of Organizational excellence and mission at Alive Hospice.

York joined Alive Hospice in 2003 as director of performance improvement and chief compliance officer. Prior to that, York was president of York Consulting Services in California.

York is a member of the National Association of Health Care Quality and the American Society of Training and Development.

As vice president of organizational excellence and mission, York will oversee human resources, performance improvement, infection control, medical records, training and education, compliance, and the Institute at Alive Hospice.

Bell promoted to chair, CEO at Farmer's Bank & Trust

Steve Bell, president of Tennessee Bank & Trust, has been named chairman and CEO of Farmer's Bank & Trust Co. of Blytheville, Ark. Bell will oversee operations for both Tennessee Bank & Trust and Farmer's Bank & Trust from Tennessee Bank's Franklin location.

Bell has more than 30 years experience in the banking industry in both Arkansas and Tennessee. He is a member of the Franklin Business Leadership Council and this year's Leadership Franklin class. Bell currently serves as a board member of Piggott State Bank, Piggott, Ark., and First National Bank in Malden, Mo.
