KraftCPAs adds state and local tax specialist

Jonathan Faught, CPA, JD, LL.M., has joined the Nashville-based firm of KraftCPAs PLLC as a manager in the firm’s tax department where he will specialize in state and local tax issues.

Prior to joining KraftCPAs, Faught was most recently with the Nashville office of Ernst & Young. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and received a juris doctorate from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. He holds an LL.M. in taxation from Temple University Law School.

CMT’S Comeaux elevated to senior director

Margaret Comeaux has been elevated to senior director, music and events production, CMT. Comeaux will continue to operate out of CMT’s Nashville office and oversee the creation, development and production of music and live event specials for the network.

Comeaux serves as executive producer in charge of such hits as the CMT Music Awards, CMT Crossroads, Invitation Only and CMT Giants. She joined CMT in 2000.

Four join Loews Vanderbilt Hotel staff

Tony Phillips, Victoria Carroll, Tecla Tawonezvi and Benjamin Bope have joined the staff of Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

Phillips is director of rooms. He has 20 years of hospitality experience, primarily with Loews Hotels. He was most recently the director of rooms for Loews Santa Monica Hotel. Phillips is a graduate of the University of Denver’s hotel, restaurant and tourism management program.

Carroll, executive housekeeper, comes to Loews Vanderbilt Hotel from Orlando, Fla., where she was a training manager for the Sheraton Vistana Resort. She was previously housekeeping manager for the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. Carroll holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Leo University.

Tawonezvi brings 12 years of hospitality industry experience to her role as national transient sales manager. She was most recently senior sales manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Tawonezvi has a degree in hospitality management from El Centro College in Dallas.

Bope is a catering and conference sales manager. His experience includes food and beverage leadership roles at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Amelia Island, Fla., and Loews Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort.

Johnson promoted at CB Richard Ellis

Harrison Johnson has been promoted to first vice president at CB Richard Ellis (CBRE).

Johnson, who joined CBRE in 2001, has been associated with the company’s Global Corporate Services, assisting clients with multi-market real estate needs and advising companies with changing and growing real estate requirements. Johnson provides strategic planning and consulting to many regional and locally headquartered companies in Tennessee and the Southeast. Harrison was previously vice president at the company.

After graduation from Auburn University with a B.S. degree in finance, he worked with Avocat Realty Advisors before joining CB Richard Ellis.

VUMC’s McMillan to lead Center of Excellence

Elise McMillan, J.D., has been appointed co-director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy University Center of Excellence on Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), where she will oversee day-to-day operations and personnel.

McMillan, the former UCEDD associate director and VKC director of community outreach, has worked for more than a decade with community and state partners to develop a host of programs that serve persons with disabilities and their families.

Nashville Area Chamber announces new hires

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce announces five new additions to the organization.

Emily Boylan is the special assistant to the president. Boylan directly supports the president, board of directors and executive committees. Prior to joining the Chamber staff, Boylan held an executive administrative assistant position at the Adventure Science Center. Boylan received her bachelor’s degree at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.

David Ferriss is a new member representative in the Chamber’s member services department. His key responsibilities include recruiting new members to the organization and maintaining relationships with existing members. Ferriss previously was the assistant director of development for the University of Mississippi athletic department. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Delta State University and received his master’s degree from Belmont University.

Lauren Love joins the Chamber’s member services department as the new receptionist/administrative assistant. Her duties include managing the Chamber’s front desk, along with assisting the member services team with projects and administrative tasks. Love previously worked as the front desk manager for Watkins College of Art&Design.

Donna Thomas joins the Chamber as the controller, where she will provide financial and accounting support to the organization. Thomas has more than 20 years of experience within the financial and human capital industry and, most recently, served as the controller and vice president of finance for Gordian Health Solutions. She is a graduate of Austin Peay State University.

Molly Vice has been named events manager. As part of the programs and events department, Vice is responsible for organizing Chamber-sponsored programs such as Area Business Council events, Regional Business After Hours and 12@12. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

McNeely Pigott & Fox announces promotions

McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations recently announced the promotions of Stacy Carr Alcala and Nicole Floyd from staff associates to associate account executives.

Alcala joined McNeely Pigott & Fox in June 2007. Alcala’s experience includes event planning, research, grassroots efforts, educational campaigns and writing.

She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with an emphasis in public relations and minors in business communication and sociology.

Floyd joined McNeely Pigott & Fox in June 2007. Her industry experience includes media relations, advertising campaigns, grassroots marketing and news writing. Floyd graduated from Vanderbilt University with a dual bachelor’s degree in communication studies and sociology.

Praxis adds three staff positions

Praxis, a company specializing in centralized patient recruitment for clinical research studies, adds three new employees.

Craig Carson joined Praxis as marketing communications research specialist andKristin Saliski as patient recruitment coordinator. In addition, Chris Layfield will serve as marketing director. Carson earned a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and recently completed a Master of Philosophy at the University of London. Saliski was formerly a clinical project manager at Medilis with 19 years of industry experience while Layfield was a partner at a successful ad agency in Nashville where he worked for 11 years.
