Morgenstern joins Lovell Communications
Lovell Communications Inc., a strategic public relations and crisis communications firm, announced the addition of Susan Morgenstern as senior vice president. Morgenstern brings with her more than 20 years of experience in corporate communications, crisis management and media relations.
Before joining Lovell, Morgenstern was a senior vice president at Dye, Van Mol & Lawrence Public Relations and news editor at The Nashville Banner. She also served four years in the U.S. Air Force and is a graduate of the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas.
Allen promoted in commercial banking group
Harry Allen, commercial relationship manager has been promoted to assistant vice president within the institutional and government banking group of SunTrust’s commercial line of business.
Allen is also the financial services category winner of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the 20/20 Leadership Alliance’s 2008 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards.
Allen, who joined SunTrust in 2000, has held positions in the commercial and retail lines of business. He holds a B.B.A. from Belmont University and is currently working on his M.B.A. at Belmont University.
Fleet One adds to staff
Fleet One, LLC, a provider of fuel cards and fleet-related payment solutions to businesses and government agencies with vehicles, recently announced the following new hires.
John Shorter has joined Fleet One as an account manager. Shorter was previously director of operations for a Dalton, Ga.-based company. He brings experience from roles with the New York state Senate and as quality assurance manager for a software-based company based in Atlanta.
Jonathan Allen has joined Fleet One as an account executive. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Allen joins from NASBA, Professional Credential Services, where he worked as a licensing coordinator.
Christopher Davis joins the company as an over the road account executive. Davis is a graduate of Mississippi State University. He is a certified sales consultant for Daimler Chrysler and for General Motors. Davis also has experience as a telecommunications specialist for North Star Communications.
Joy Teague comes to Fleet One as an account executive. With 19 years of experience in the transportation industry, Teague most recently served as a senior sales executive with LINC Preferred Group and northeast sales executive for TripPak Services.
Paramore | Redd announces four staff additions
Paramore | Redd Online Marketing, an interactive advertising agency located in Nashville’s Gulch, announces the following staff additions:
Sean Gates joins Paramore | Redd as the lead software engineer. Gates has 10 years of web development experience including jobs at Yahoo!, ADP, and US Bancorp.
James Mathias joins as a web designer/developer. Prior to working with Paramore | Redd, Mathias was a freelance web designer/developer for seven years in the Pacific Northwest.
Josh Sullivan joins as a web designer/developer. Sullivan previously worked as a flash designer for Dealerskins, a leader in the automotive web design industry.
Matthew Callis joins as a programming and software engineer. His background includes experience as a designer and engineer exploring various forms of interactive systems in both digital and networked environments. He previously interned with Paramore | Redd.
VUMC reorganization bolsters news efforts
Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s office of news and public affairs has reorganized and promoted several staff members to new positions.
John Howser, formerly assistant director and director of media relations, has been promoted to deputy director of the office. Howser, who joined VUMC in 1987, will continue to oversee media relations and will also assume a broader role in the office’s administrative responsibilities. Howser received a Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism from Western Kentucky University. A former newspaper photographer, Howser served as the Medical Center’s staff photojournalist before assuming responsibility for media relations in 1996.
Wayne Wood, assistant director, has taken on additional duties and has been named executive director of new media. Wood, who joined the staff in 1981, will continue to serve as editor of House Organ and the Medical Center’s annual report. He is a graduate of the University of the Tennessee College of Communications and has a master’s degree in liberal arts and science from Vanderbilt.
Nancy Humphrey has been promoted to assistant director and director of publications. Humphrey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and history from Western Kentucky University. She was a general assignment and medical reporter for The Nashville Banner from 1982-1985.
Jerry Jones has been promoted to assistant director of news. Jones, who joined the Medical Center in 2000, is the regional news director and will assume a broader role in the office’s media relations activities. Jones has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and journalism from Lipscomb University and a master’s degree in public administration from Tennessee State University.
