Heery hires DeBuse for prison design

The Nashville office of national architecture and engineering firm Heery International has hired former Corrections Corp. of America managing director Timothy DeBuse to help it win more prison work.

DeBuse has joined Heery, which is owned by Parsons Brinckerhoff, as market leader for the firm’s correctional design practice and will be based at the firm’s Midtown office. At CCA, DeBuse managed project development and corporate facility design. During a career of more than two decades, he has worked on various corrections projects with more than 47,000 beds and a total value of $2 billion.

DeBuse holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Nebraska. He is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America.

HCA appoints Centennial Medical Center leader

HCA Holdings executives have chosen the CEO of one of their Florida hospitals to take over as head of Centennial Medical Center, effective Dec. 1.

The appointment of Heather Rohan follows the news earlier this year that longtime Centennial leader Thomas Herron will resign that position at the end of the year. Herron had been Centennial’s CEO since 2006 and worked for HCA for 44 years.

Rohan had most recently been the CEO for Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Fla., north of Miami. Like Herron, she is a HCA veteran, having been with the company since 1986.

GS&P add Schulz

R. Scott Schulz has joined Gresham, Smith and Partners’ industrial market as senior industrial project manager.

He will oversee industrial market projects and liaison between clients and design teams.

Schulz’s architectural career spans nearly three decades. He served as a senior architect and facilities department manager at Gresham, Smith and Partners from 1995 to 1998. Later, he assumed leadership positions at SSOE, Newton Oldacre McDonald, LLC, and most recently Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon, Inc.

Schulz earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Arkansas.

Toney joins Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain

Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain has added Jessica Toney as a staff member in the tax department’s tax services division focusing on tax compliance and consulting.

Previously serving as an LBMC tax intern, Toney has already completed one tax season with LBMC.

Toney is a graduate of Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s degree in accountancy.

Zehnder hires account supervisor

Zehnder Communications has hired Chastity Kessler as account supervisor.

Kessler joins Zehnder after serving as brand and media manager for MedExpress Urgent Care. Her professional experience ranges from concept strategy to brand management.

Kessler earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Tennessee.
