Keith Herron, Midsouth region president of Regions Bank, will succeed HCA chief Jack Bovender as the co-chairman of the Chamber's Partnership 2010 for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.

Herron will work with P2010 co-chairman Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, the Chamber's economic development staff and P2010 investors to continue economic growth in the Middle Tennessee area.

"It has been a great honor to serve as P2010 co-chair," said Bovender. "I'm proud of the contributions this partnership has made to the economic vitality of the region. Keith will serve as an excellent co-chair, and I look forward watching the Nashville area continue to prosper under his leadership."

Bovender will continue in his role on the P2010 Lead Investor Council.

Herron, a 20-year veteran of the banking industry, oversees Regions' banking operations for Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia, and serves on the company's Executive Leadership Committee.

He is also a member of the chamber's board of directors, chairs the its finance and audit committee and recently completed a one-year chairmanship of the P2010 business recruitment committee.

P2010 is an economic development and community enhancement initiative of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. The goal of the regional cooperative is to make Middle Tennessee an attractive place to live, work and do business. Support for the program comes from both public and private companies as well as governmental agencies from the organization's 10-county service area.

I would think Mr Herron would be busy trying to do his part in keeping Regions Bank in business.
