You can back up your e-mail addresses for safety and use in other computers by creating a WAB file. With your Address Book open, go to File/Export. A window will pop up that allows you to export your book as a WAB file or even vCards. Choose WAB and then choose a place to which to export the file.

Name the file according to date. Techies, by the way, always put the year first when they use a date. For example, for Sept. 12, 2005, they will list it as 05-9-12. Named like this, the files will always progress logically in the computer from the earliest to the latest dates; if you list the file as 9-12-05, you get into problems as the months go from 9 to 10, 11 or 12.
