McKissack Elementary School will hold a special banquet May 17 to end the school year and to observe the different student structure the school will follow for 2001/2002.

Metro schools spokesman Craig Owensby said while some students will stay at McKissack during the next school year, most will be bused to W.A. Bass Middle School.

McKissack, 915 38th Ave. N., is being converted to a middle school as part of the School Improvement Plan. Owensby said 34,000 square feet will be added to the current 67,000 square feet.
