Motorists driving by the Briley Parkway and I-40 interchange should not be alarmed at the sight of what will appear to be a crashed aircraft on a Nashville International Airport runway.
The airport is staging an aircraft disaster response exercise on Tuesday from 6 – 9 p.m. The exercise will feature dozens of emergency response departments and hundreds of volunteers.
Federal Aviation Administration regulations mandate airports to conduct full-scale emergency exercises every three years, the Airport Authority said in a statement.
The exercise will test the effectiveness of the response plans and procedures of the airport and participating agencies.
