Anti-tax group holds small protest at Metro City Hall

Mayor Bill Purcell and Vice Mayor Howard Gentry Jr., rallied support for a half-cent sales tax increase Wednesday on Jefferson Street, while a small group of anti-tax protestors gathered outside Metro City Hall a few blocks away.

Purcell enlisted support from the Interdenominational Ministerial Fellowship executive committee, assuring the group that the additional sales tax revenues would be used to support public education and Nashville
