Badly burned body found in Bellevue

Metro Police are investigating the discovery of a badly burned body as a homicide after firefighters found it responding to a truck on fire in Bellevue.

Firefighters found the body after they were called to the scene of a vehicle fire around 3:30 Friday morning behind a Regal Cinema movie theater off Highway 70 South near Interstate 40 in Bellevue. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters saw the body in the front passenger seat of the truck.

The body was too badly burned to determine its gender. Police were trying to identify the victim and determine who owned the truck.
