An Urban Design Overlay (UDO) proposal was submitted to the Metro Planning Department for a historic property in the heart of Bellevue.
Even though neighbors defeated a Planned Unit Development proposal for a 49,950-square-foot retail building designed for an H.G. Hill store in August, the property at the corner of Old Harding Pike and Bellevue Road may still become the site of a grocery store.
The UDO proposal was submitted to the Planning Commission in mid-December with the aim of ensuring the integrity of that historic corner, according to attorney Dan Huffstutter, who represents property owner Martha Richardson.
Huffstutter said neighbors from the Belle Pointe Condominiums had input in the drawing of the plans.
According to Bob Leeman with the Metro Planning Department, the planning staff will meet with representatives from Lose & Associates (the company turning in the proposal) this week to discuss the proposal.
