Bill calls for Newton ouster

A bill calling for the ouster of Rep. Chris Newton has been filed in the state House of Representatives.

State Rep. Chris Clem (R-Lookout Mountain) filed a resolution calling for the removal of Newton, who was indicted last month in the federal Tennessee Waltz sting on bribery and extortion charges.

Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Bob Davis also asked Newton to resign.
