The Tennessee Titans are happy that Rob Bironas has connected on five consecutive field goals after opening with a miss in Pittsburgh during the first week.
But they are just as elated with what Bironas has done for their kickoff coverage units.
His high, deep kickoffs have resulted in four touchbacks already this season, a huge number through three games, considering Tennessee has just three touchbacks all last season.
Currently, the Titans are tops in the NFL by having opponents start drives at the 20.4 yard line on average. Last year, Tennessee was tied for 18th with an opponent start average at the 29.4 yard line.
That nine-yard average swing in field position could come in handy Sunday as the Indianapolis Colts have struggled a bit in that regard, ranking just 24th in average drive start, beginning offensively at the 23.3 yard line.
Any chance to make Peyton Manning and the Colts offense to drive a long field can only help the Titans
