Board of Education approves budget with staff cuts

The Metro Board of Education unanimously approved a final budget of $571 million last night with a proposed elimination of 140 custodial and teaching positions.

Board member Ed Kindall said it was not a budget that board members wanted to approve, but they had to work with the budget estimates they were given by the Metro Finance department.
