The body of a Nashville woman, who had been missing since she went boating with friends and coworkers on Aug. 15, was pulled from Percy Priest Lake on Wednesday afternoon.

A graduate of Hillsboro High School and Middle Tennessee State University, Holly Nelson, 25, was reported missing when the group returned to Elm Hill Marina at 6 p.m. A group of about 20 coworkers from Nashville Business Consultants were participating in a teambuilding event. They were divided between two rented pontoon boats, and each group thought she was on the other boat.

Her body was recovered in the same general area where she was boating when she went missing. It is presumed that Nelson drowned, although the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

Personnel from the Office of Emergency Management, Metro Nashville police and fire departments conducted extensive searches of the lake. Divers were said to be dealing some of the deepest part of the lake.

Officials said the cool water of the lake at deeper levels apparently prevented her body from surfacing until Wednesday afternoon.
