The free event from 9-11 a.m. is part of the Gordon E. Inman College of Health Sciences & Nursing Speaker Series, “Diagnosing Our Future.”

Cooper and Bredesen each are slated to speak for 20 minutes, starting at 9:30 and 9:50, respectively, before an open dialogue and question and answer session.

The event will open with presentations from other health care industry professionals, who will be on hand to provide context during the moderated Q&A.

Speakers include Dr. Wilhelmina Leigh, senior research associate at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies in Washington, D.C., Curt Thorne, president and CEO of Franklin-based medical imaging management company MedSolutions, and Landon Gibbs, executive director of Franklin-based nonprofit health care organization SHOUTAmerica.

According to a Belmont media advisory, public seating for the event is full. The City Paper will have a report on the event Tuesday afternoon.
