Carnival Kia operator Chris Bostick's case bound over to grand jury

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:31am

Chris Bostick, well-known operator of the Carnival Kia automobile dealerships in the Nashville area, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Williamson County Circuit Court on Wednesday. Domestic assault and weapons possession charges will now be bound over to a grand jury.

His bond was also modified with the stipulation that he not consume alcohol or drugs. He will be monitored and he can stay in the home he shares with his wife with her permission.

In a brief statement to reporters following the hearing Bostick and his wife Dessie stood arm in arm while he expressed regret for the entire incident and wished he could "hit rewind" on the evening. They both expressed their commitment to each other and their family.

They then left the courthouse together and drove away in a Kia Sorrento.

On Sunday, Nov. 4, Brentwood police were dispatched to the Bostick home on Princeton Hills Drive.

According to court documents, a verbal altercation occurred at the couple’s residence and Chris Bostick asked his wife to leave. While leaving, Bostick allegedly slammed the door on her, causing it to strike the right side of her face and leave a visible knot. When she reached for her phone to call police, he allegedly knocked the phone from her hand.

She then drove to the Brentwood High School parking lot where she met police, who returned with her to the residence. According to police, Chris Bostick had already fled the scene on foot, but Dessie Bostick escorted the officers to the bedroom where an AR-15 rifle and handgun were found. The police report goes on to state that multiple safes containing more firearms were at the residence, but Dessie Bostick didn’t know the combinations.

Chris Bostick surrendered to Brentwood police the next morning.

What? Guy has 5 priors, a felon, and it's just a mistake?
A AR-15 in his bedroom under the mattress was because the cleaning lady left it?

You're right, sonny 1024. He isn't a convicted felon because he was never convicted in SC. He was only charged for possession of a weapon without a permit, but the charge was dropped, so any charge here in TN for him to be a convicted felon is wrong and will probably be dropped. Anything that happened at his home with his wife would be in her hands to press charges against him. Channel 2 News tonight showed an interview with them and it seems like he is so remorseful. But there may be more to the domestic thing than we know, but yes, let's give him the benefit of the doubt until something proves otherwise. honda1

Dude left when he saw me. They quoted me in 2008 on a Rio - I asked them to Email me with a breakdown on the numbers and the quotation included $750 in "doc fees." I Googled doc fees and found out that is a paperwork charge that shouldn't exceed $250. So I contacted Mr. Bostick and asked him to explain why it cost $750 to process the paperwork - he explained that it was their customary charge. I then asked him which was true - either he thought I was a moron or he wasn't bargaining in good faith. That is when our discussion concluded.

The wife may have another "deal" because she has probably destroyed the Kia deal as she knew it.

Why is the media making such a big deal about this man, this has been in the news for
weeks. Surely there are more important things going on in Nashville. Seems the media has some vindicative reason for keeping this in the news. How about letting it go until we hear the final results from his apperrance in court. Seems a lot more to this story than just this man, what is the media NOT telling us. Is he solely to blame for this suppossed fight with his wife, is she totally innocent, what led up to this altercation. The man made a mistake, he's paying for it, so just leave him alone. What he does in business has no bearing on this situtation. We all know in doing business you can't please all the people, some is always going to think they were taken advantage of. He helps a lot of people be able to get financing that otherwise can't, yes the interest rate is going to be high just as in anyother place of business. I for one am tired of reading about this.

Being this is a domestic violence case, there should've been a restraining order issued against him. Also, why weren't the safest containing the "so-called" firearms removed from the home. In fact, its strange his wife doesn't have the combinations. I believe she may be in a controlling marriage, where he keeps her in check.
I don't think this is over. Hope she has family nearby to check on her and the children, because something doesn't seem right.

Well honestguy is right but I think in this any comments I made would be absent the word "hit".

The grand jury has a job...and should they take home $300 a week Bostick can put them in a Carnival KIA.

Anyone else ever seen the "devoted" couple sloppy and shouting at each other at The Palm? Convincing.

All you jerk offs that are casting stones at Chris and his family over this situation need to realize that if your married, you yourself are only a couple of beers,a glass of wine,a line of cocaine,a puff or two of crack or a shot of Jack away from the same thing. All of the things I listed can make a person's mood change and their temper flair at the drop of a hat. I can tell by the comments that there may be a few christians posting on here and that We all need to be praying for ourselves and Chris and his Family. The old devil has broken up way too many marriages and it's a shame. People wake up and lift this family up in your prayers and who knows, maybe God will smile on you for it.

"I believe she may be in a controlling marriage, where he keeps her in check." Projecting are we? Pure speculation on your part?
How about two people got into an argument? That maybe too simple?

SENSATIONALIZING a common domestic dispute, blowing it all out of proportion because the kia people have some commercials.......is this scenario somehow new to the viewing public?????no, its old hat, newsworthy in a mediocre kind of way.......so what does the media do?? they HYPE the story, put a slight SPIN on it all in the interest of good journarlism, or is it to keep JOHN Q PUBLIC entertained........hey i know, lets have the kia couple get a little verbal and talk a little s____while doing their next commercial.....the BOSTICK lady is a looker,,,,,,,,,,,,, just sayin
