Cocaine seized on airplane in Nashville

Officials will announce later today details regarding the seizure of 150 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $1.7 million on an airplane at Nashville International Airport.

Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas and United States Attorney Ed Yarbrough will speak at a news conference at 1:30 p.m. in regard to the seizure.

The plane had to make an emergency landing on Briley Parkway and was immediately pulled over for speeding.

If the US attorney is in on the press conference its a Federal case/information.Sounds like it may be a private plane.

Just a guess, but it's almost a sure thing that the local police were working on a tipoff, likely from the feds. This is not a knock on Metro's finest, but showing up to make the arrest is hardly a banner effort, TITAN1's cheerleading notwithstanding.
