Metro police have charged Erroll L. Armstrong, 60, with criminal homicide for Tuesday morning’s shooting death of Robert Mitchell at Mitchell’s Alabama Avenue apartment.

Police allege that Armstrong, of Due West Avenue in Madison, had been out drinking with Mitchell when the two got into an argument. Armstrong allegedly told police he dropped Mitchell off at the West Wind apartment complex where Mitchell lived, ordering him out of the car, and then later returned to the apartment.

When Mitchell opened the door, Armstrong said he shot Mitchell in the leg, according to police. Mitchell, 59, died at the scene after losing a large amount of blood.

According to police, Armstrong was convicted last June of shooting another man in the leg outside a bar on Tucker Road, for which he received a 10-year probated sentence.

Armstrong was in jail Wednesday morning in lieu of $500,000 bond.

"10-year probated sentence" = license to kill

Welcome to Nashville Justice. Shoot one man=probation. Where are all the gun hating liberals? I'm sure this man had a handgun carry permit. What? No? Criminals break the law.
Will he be charged with a hate crime? Probly not.
