Metro Council next week will begin reviewing the Sommet Center lease amendment agreement reached by the new Nashville Predators and Mayor Karl Dean.
The Budget and Finance Committee will hold a meeting on Monday at 4 p.m. at the Metro Courthouse to review the lease amendments.
The lease amendments are on the Council agenda for Tuesday night, as well.
The new Predators owners said they needed more favorable lease guidelines in order to keep the team in Nashville.
The Metro Sports Authority voted to approve the lease amendments earlier this month with a 7-1 vote.
Same here nashbeck! id has to be the most bitter and negative person on this earth.
Why did they buy the team at that price then if they needed handouts from us? Are we getting a piece of the team?
Under this lease, the Predators stay in Nashville. That's a big enough piece for me!
I am not negitive , I just don't want them using taxpayer money to make money without giveing us a piece of the action. If we are going to be investment bankers we are entitled to a profit. The other guy made a ton of money on us and we wound up with you know what in our hand.
They will not review it with any sense of fiscal responsibility. If they did they would reject it. Ice Hockey is about good hot dogs, hamburgers and peanuts nothing more.
Frank knows as much about ice hockey as Id does about spelling. The deal will be approved and the Preds will remain in Nashville and Frank and id will still whine.
