District 29 Councilwoman Vivian Wilhoite was booked Wednesday by Metro Police for her May 14 citation for driving with a suspended license.

Wilhoite’s license was suspended for failure to pay outstanding tickets, according to the Tennessee Department of Safety.

The second-term Antioch Council member apparently paid her outstanding tickets on May 15 and was issued a new license the next day.

Wilhoitte said she got a speeding ticket in February and simply forgot to pay it.

“I already started calling my constituents and plan on putting [details] on my blog for those I can’t reach," she said. "Many have called with support and understanding. It was a human situation. I appreciate their support but at the same time it is something I have to take responsibility for.”

Wilhoite was pulled over and cited on the corner of Korean War Veterans Boulevard and Second Avenue South on May 14.
