Metro Finance Director Richard Riebeling will present Mayor Karl Dean’s proposed Metro government budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year to the Metro Council on Thursday, April 29 at 11:45 a.m.

The presentation will follow the mayor’s annual state of the city address, which is set for 10 a.m. on the same day at Riverfront Park.

At the request of Dean, all Metro department heads evaluated the effect of a 7.5 percent reduction on their budgets, which they discussed with the mayor’s office earlier this month.

Dean has indicated some departments won’t necessarily endure a full 7.5 percent when the final Metro government budget is finalized.

I wonder if the Mayor is cutting his own budget?

He's good at cutting silly things like public works, fire, schools, but giving more and more to Preds, Titans, MCC, and soon to The Sounds.
