Dean names law, finance directors

Mayor Karl Dean on Wednesday announced permanent appointments for directors of both the Finance and Law departments.

Dean has tapped Richard Reibeling to head the Metro Finance Department, replacing the long-time finance director of Bill Purcell, David Manning.

Riebeling’s résumé – provided by the Mayor’s Office – notes that he is the current vice president of public finance at Fifth Third Securities, Inc. and a former vice president at Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc. Prior to joining Morgan Keegan, he served as commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development for the State of Tennessee.

Interim Metro Law Director Sue Cain will take the helm of the Law Department on a permanent basis. In addition to heading up the Metro Law Department when Dean resigned to run for Mayor, Cain served as the deputy director from 1994 to last summer.
