SAVANNAH, GA. - Joy Saxon Bishop died March 29, 2003. She was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Columbus, Ga., the daughter of the late Louie and Hallie (Hallman) Saxon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Louie Bishop; and son, Bruce Bishop. Survivors include her children, Richard (Carlene) Bishop of Savannah, Ga., Barry (Mary Beth) Bishop of Cross Plains, Pamela Bishop of Knoxville, Peggy (Mark) Tidwell of Murfreesboro and Rebecca (James) Howarth; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; uncle, Hubert "Sixie" (Estelle) Hallman of Fort Valley, Ga.; aunt, Edna Page; and a host of friends, including dear friend of more than 60 years, Dean Clark. She attended secretarial school at Hume Fogg High School where she graduated in 1945. She worked as a legal secretary in Nashville for more than 40 years. Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. today. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Samuel Watkins officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of The Last Supper in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
