Savage, Velma Tucker

Velma Tucker Savage, age 79, died Jan. 16, 2001. She was preceded in death by husband, the late Dr. Freeman F. Savage. Survivors include son, F.F. Buddy (Carole) Savage Jr.; daughter, Lorene E. (Tommy) Harris; grandchildren, Sherry D. Hutchinson, Randy W. and Jeff L. Savage; Thomas W. Harris and Sherry M. Boyd; 12 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family received friends from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 18, and will also receive from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services today, Jan. 19. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Hermitage Funeral Home, 539 Shute Ave., Hermitage. The Rev. Kent Hall will officiate. Interment will be held in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Smith, Lelburn

Lelburn Lea Smith, age 66, died Jan. 17, 2001. Survivors include wife, Joyce N. Smith; sons, Danny (Jayne) Smith, Ricky (Denise) Smith, Dewayne (Betty) Smith; daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Jones; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Family received friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 18, at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Madison. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby McKinney officiating. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.

Weaver Sr., Harold Gordon

Harold Gordon Weaver Sr., age 75, died Jan. 16, 2001. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Gracie Marie Weaver. Mr. Weaver served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was the owner of Gordon Weaver Realtors and a real estate broker for over 45 years. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Marie Weaver; daughter, Judy (Frank) Batson; sons, Randall G. and Harold G. (Jackie) Weaver Jr.; sisters, Lois Austin and Betty Ann Tyree; brother, James A. Weaver; grandchildren, Dale, Sherry, Troy, Stephanie, Jason and Matthew Weaver, Frank III, Lisa, Beth, Gayle, Blake and Drew Batson, and Stacy Brown. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. today, Jan. 19, at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home, 429 Donelson Pike, with Dr. Bobby Howard, Dr. Gary Allen Henecke and son-in-law Frank Batson officiating. Entombment will take place at Woodlawn Mausoleum. Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers. A Masonic service was held at 7 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 18, with visitation with the family from 6 p.m. to 9 pm.
