Lapidus, Helen Ann

NASHVILLE - Helen Ann Lapidus, 72, died March 3, 2004. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Emanuel and Leon Lapidus and Agnes Schwartz. Survivors include her sister, Dovie (Irvin) Jaffe of Dallas; nephew, Douglas Lapidus; nieces, Barbara Ann Jaffe, Madelon Gryll, Connie Simmons, Eileen Sloan, Sally Alterman and Susan Katz; and cousin, Charlie Lapidus. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in KKAI Cemetery with Rabbi Ronald Roth officiating.

McVoy, Helen Hannon

NASHVILLE - Helen Hannon McVoy, 80, died Feb. 29, 2004. Mrs. McVoy was a member of Hillwood Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. McVoy Sr.; parents, C.W. and Nora Hannon; and sister, Nora "Ronnie" Hannon. Survivors include her sons, E.J. (Sandy) McVoy Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., John McVoy and Paul (Becky) McVoy; sister, Mary (Bill) Dunigan; brother, W.M. (Jane) Hannon of Sea Island, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Henry Catholic Church with the Rev. Charley Giacosa as celebrant. Active pallbearers will be David Dunigan, Bill Kimberlin, Patrick Corby, Dan Singelyn, Tony Wirth, Carl Heer and Bob Hannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Marge O'Neill, Jean Dortch, Barbara Hunt, John Hardebeck, Ron DeFreece, Neil Devine, Larry Parsons, Ralph Langreck Jr., Jack DiVittorio and Marvin Himmelberg. Memorials may be made to St. Henry Catholic Church.

Parker, Ann T.

NASHVILLE - Ann T. Parker, 64, died March 3, 2004. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Clare E. and William G. Hinnant; husband of 40 years, Gene D. Parker; son, Daniel Edward Parker; daughters, Christina Kilby and Kelly Hereford; brother, William G. Hinnant Jr.; sisters, Harriet Scherer and Frankie Koelzer; and seven grandchildren. She was a member of the Crievewood United Methodist Church where she was a member of the hand bell choir. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Susan Spieth officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. today and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or a local humane shelter.

NASHVILLE - Reitha Mayberry Sheffield, 81, died March 1, 2004. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Sheffield; daughter, Shirley Sheffield Green; son, Wayne Sheffield; other family, Hal, Stacey, Grey, Blake, Sela, and Penn Andrews, Jim, Julie, Gracy, and Jack Knestrick, Kelly Andrews and Isabella, Kurt, Booth, and Karly Kammann; and sisters, Jen Webb, Nola Powell and Ola Chadwick. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today with the Rev. Diana Hough officiating. Interment will be in Triune Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice or Rochelle Center. Visitation with the family will be held from 3-7 p.m. today.

NASHVILLE - Barbara Puckett Simms, 67, died March 4, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Renee Simms; sons, Bobby (Felicia) and Stacy Simms; grandchildren, Paige and Eddie Simms; sisters, Faye Jones and Deborah Solomon; and brother, Earl Dean Puckett. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with Wendell Byrd and Jim Yates officiating. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-8 p.m. today.

Stockton, Donald Lee 'Duck'

MADISON - Donald Lee "Duck" Stockton, 43, died March 4, 2004. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Stockton; children, Brian, Brandon and Jessica; brothers, William and Ricky; and sisters, Donna Coons, Margaret Vaughn and Vickie Hopper. Mr. Stockton worked for Metro Public Works for 16 years. Visitation with the family will be held from 1-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 8, with Brother Aubrey Vaughn officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
