Staff reports

A driver on Interstate 24 was injured early Wednesday morning after someone fired gunshots at his vehicle, and police are working to determine who pulled the trigger and why.

One bullet hit DeAndre Person, 22, in his shoulder while he drove on the interstate just before 3 a.m. with three passengers — Terae Person, 20; Davon Dixon, 19; and Jeffery Middleton, 32 — also in his vehicle.

The men told police they had just left Klub Cirok on Murfreesboro Pike and were on I-24 when someone shot at them from a white four-door sedan.

DeAndre Person drove to a Love’s Travel Stop on Trinity Lane. He was later treated for a minor injury and released from the hospital. None of Person’s passengers were hurt.
