A shopping center developer has sued Franklin Mayor Tom Miller for voting on a road change for a neighboring golf course while he allegedly stood to financially benefit from the outcome.
Brentwood-based Parkway Commons contends the mayor violated the law by not disclosing his conflict of interest as a broker for The Parks Group when he voted as a member of the Franklin Planning Commission on Nov. 17.
The lawsuit, which seeks to overturn the approval, was filed in Williamson County Chancery Court last week against the City of Franklin, the Planning Commission, Through the Green Inc. of Nashville and Wolfe Development Co. of Jackson.
Neither Miller or planning officials could be reached for comment Thursday. The Parks Group, a commercial real estate arm of Bob Parks Realty, confirmed Miller is one of two brokers in its Franklin office.
City Attorney Douglas Berry said he had seen the suit, but declined to comment on it.
