Metro students might be in class year-round by 2008 if the Board of Education votes in favor of a balanced calendar in a few weeks.
Students in K-12 classrooms in Metro Nashville Public Schools would begin the school year late in July, attending classes in nine-week segments (with two weeks out in the middle) under the proposal, which will be discussed on Nov. 28.
Olivia Brown, public information coordinator, said the district is preparing to use its call-out phone system to survey parents before the board meets at the end of the month.
