A Davidson County grand jury recently indicted Kevin Fleet, 41, of Smyrna, on seven felony counts including vehicular homicide.

The indictment stems from a crash on Oct. 25, 2009, when police said Fleet’s Ford F-150 slammed into the back of a Chevrolet Tracker on Interstate 24. The small SUV left the roadway and flipped onto its roof.

Malindy Raymer, 45, was ejected from the vehicle. She died the next day.

Four other Tracker passengers, including Terry Raymer, Ontiveros Maurico, Steven Raymer (who was also ejected) and Brandy Raymer, were also injured in the wreck.

Police believed Fleet was intoxicated at the time of the accident, and he now faces two counts of vehicular homicide — for intoxication and reckless conduct — four counts of vehicular assault and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
