Drug bust leads to arrest of 75-year-old

A family of three suspected of selling prescription drugs was arrested Tuesday by Metro Police officers at a house near Charlotte Avenue.

An elderly couple — Loretta Light, 75 and William Kenneth Light, 62 — were arrested along with their son, Kenneth Lynn Light, 34, for possession with intent to sell, according to reports.

Officers said they executed a narcotics search warrant at the residence and found 14 80mg Oxycontin pills, according to the affidavit. The same document says detectives had been purchasing the same pills from the residence prior to the arrest.

According to police spokeswoman Kristin Mumford, police had suspected Loretta Light of a similar crime in 1998 but could not make a case at the time.

The family is currently free on bail.
