This week’s City Paper features two prominent changes: First, we’re printing on newsprint again. Second, we’re now in news racks on Fridays.
The reasons behind the switch to newsprint are largely economic. Our previous printer passed along a substantial rate increase to us and we had to explore other options. The cost savings we were able to achieve by switching printers (and paper) will help protect the journalism we produce, and will also allow us to make some long-sought upgrades and add content to our website in the not-too-distant future.
But in moving to a different printer, we were also able to push our deadlines back a day to be able to distribute on Friday. Previously, you could find The City Paper in racks beginning on Saturday and at businesses on Mondays. Now, your weekend paper arrives on Friday.
As always, I appreciate you reading The City Paper.
