Youth Inc., a nonprofit organization promoting recreational and sports activities for young people, is looking for inspiration from inline hockey players in Bellevue.

The group has asked players to write an essay based on an inspirational quote. The contest is open to all hockey players involved in a league at the Bellevue rink at 621 McPherson Drive.

Charlie Tygard, executive director of Youth Inc., said the contest started about a week ago. The idea began when Tygard mounted plaques, each with a quote from a famous politician, sportsperson or writer, on the chainlink fence surrounding the inline hockey facility.
