Ex-Vanderbilt assistant dies at 35

Former Vanderbilt football assistant coach J.D. Hall collapsed and died of an apparent heart attack late Saturday night. He was 35.

Hall coached Commodores receivers from 2002-03 under current VU head coach Bobby Johnson. For the past three years, Hall had been head coach at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Fla.
