Jonathan Flippo faces charges stemming from a June 23 crash in Hermitage that killed a 13-year-old Chattanooga girl. He is now behind bars in the Nashville.

Metro Police issued warrants July 14 charging Flippo in the fatal crash, but he was just extradited to Nashville after settling vandalism and evading arrest charges in Hamilton County.

Jessica Burkhart, a rear seat passenger in the Dodge Stratus Flippo was driving on June 23, was killed when the car crashed into a John Deere tractor on the shoulder of Lebanon Pike.

Flippo faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 4 on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, failure to report an accident, driving without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is also wanted in Georgia for failure to appear in court.
