While the investigation continues into last month’s fire at a one-time Seventh-day Adventist Bible publishing house, a fire department spokeswoman said it appears someone intentionally set the fire.
Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office are still seeking “persons of interest” in the investigation, said Capt. Maggie Lawrence, who called the fire that raged through the abandoned building at 2119 24th Ave. N. suspicious.
“We know that it’s not accidental,” Lawrence said.
On the afternoon of July 20, the Nashville Fire Department responded to a three-alarm fire on 24th Avenue near Clarksville Highway. The building had been vacant for years.
As the building still smoldered, investigators turned their attention to the occupants of a white pickup truck reported to have been at the building on various occasions including immediately before the fire broke out.
