Detectives from the Metro police sex crimes unit have arrested a former nightclub security guard and a frequent customer for allegedly raping a 19-year-old in the club’s basement last May.

One-time Graham Central Station security guard Antonio Hamm, 28, and Marris Wynne, 40, both face separate grand jury indictments on aggravated rape charges.

Police believe the two raped the 19-year-old woman in the basement of the Second Avenue downtown nightclub in the early morning of May 22, 2010.

Hamm is accused of approaching the victim after she got separated from her friends, telling her she was too intoxicated and he would escort her out of the club.

But instead, police said Hamm used an elevator to take the woman down to the basement where he raped her before telling her he would send someone to take her back to her friends.

Wynne allegedly showed up later and then also raped the woman after Hamm left.

Wynne returned the victim to the main floor where the victim met back up with her friends, police said.

Police arrested Wynne on Jan. 17 when he reported to his parole officer. Investigators used DNA testing to identify Wynne as a suspect before a grand jury indicted him on four counts of aggravated rape.

Wynne has two previous robbery convictions from 2000 and 2009. Hamm was indicted on two counts of aggravated rape on Jan. 28 and arrested that night.

Both men are in jail on $750,000 bond each.

According to police, Graham Central Station cooperated with the investigation and has since replaced its security and management personnel.

Police urge anyone with information about this matter or any similar offense to call the sex crimes unit at 862-7540.
