Census 2000 figures released last week show us Middle Tennessee is growing.
Of course, we were pretty sure that was the case, because we spend more and more hours of our lives in line, waiting for the fast-food worker to bag the burgers; waiting for the video clerk to ring up our rentals; waiting for the pharmacist to get our refill even though we called ahead.
Our lives and the life of our community are on fast-forward. Our concern must be that in our haste, we do not leave the best of our way of life behind.
