Mickey Roos, a barbecue joint on Hillsboro Road, touts itself as offering a “genuine taste of Texas,” and that may have been exactly what a Franklin man got in the restaurant parking lot last week.

Franklin police said an argument ended just before 11 p.m. Thursday when the suspect, William Sullivan, allegedly stabbed a friend in the abdomen and threatened two other men with a knife.

An officer on routine patrol came upon the large crowd in the parking lot; and witnesses quickly pointed out the suspect who was immediately taken into custody, police said.

Police said Sullivan had a bloody knife in his possession when he was arrested.

The victim, a 33-year-old Franklin man, was briefly hospitalized after the incident but has now been released, police said.

Sullivan was booked into the Williamson County Jail on three counts of aggravated assault. He was released Friday on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Didn't know that the Williamson county chapter of the Republican Party was having a meeting...

How is a stabbing in the parking lot a "genuine taste of Texas"? That is the worst lead I've ever seen. Is that just an idiot comment or what passes for journalism in the City Paper?

Secondly, what kind of friends stab each other? More investigative journalism?

The City Paper should require more than an elementary school education for who they hire to write their articles.

local boy--your comment is obtuse.

My god, we had better hurry and write laws controlling knives. Can't have knife toting cowboys roaming the streets.

Probably had more to do with how much alcohol had been consumed than barbeque eaten or location.

Your right that was an idiotic comment. As a family member of the victim, I know the whole story and it's more complicated than what these idiots published. They were close friends and alcohol was involved, which Mickey Roos shouldn't have been serving the gentleman that did this if he was as drunk as all the witnesses say, but hey whatever to make a dollar right?! Everyone should also know that Mickey Roos, made the comment about the victim "I can't believe they brought him in here bleeding all over the restuarant", what kind of restuarant would say that about someone who could have potentially been killed b/c they didn't know when to cut someone off? It is all around a crappy situation b/c 2 peoples lives have been affected by this. Please respect the privacy of everyone involved.

Getting stabbed is not really "a genuine taste of Texas", but rather, a genuine taste of University of Tennessee athletics. The restaurant should shift it's theme.
