The Tennessee Department of Transportation has delayed the scheduled opening ceremony for the newest section of State Route 840 in Williamson County.

A forecast that includes heavy rain and strong winds forced officials to reschedule the opening at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27. The event had been planned for Tuesday.

Gov. Phil Bredesen, TDOT Commissioner Gerald Nicely and other state and local officials will officially open the new section of highway, which stretches from Highway 100 in Fairview to State Route 46 near Leiper’s Fork.

The ceremony will be held on SR840 east about 4.5 miles from the Highway 100 interchange and 12.5 miles from Interstate 40 in Dickson County.

So does this mean the route connects all the way through yet, or not?

The route only goes from I-40 to Pinewood Rd. close to Leipers Fork. The rest of the road from Pinewood to Columbia Rd. just west of I-65 is barely under way.
I live in Leipers Fork and the new route takes almost 10 minutes off of my commute to Dickson.
