Police arrested two Hendersonville teens and charged them with filing a false report and telephone harassment after an AMBER alert was issued for one of them Friday.
Morgan Leigh Heath, 13, was reported missing by her guardian Friday evening after the guardian received text messages saying the girl had been kidnapped. Heath had been missing since 7:20 Friday morning, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an AMBER alert at 6:30 p.m. Friday, after the girl’s guardian contacted the Hendersonville Police Department.
Police found Heath and her 15-year-old boyfriend a couple hours later in a Hendersonville park with the phone used to send the text messages. The two teens were taken into custody Friday and held over the weekend.
They have a bond hearing set for Tuesday.
