An 18-year-old Honduran national is in jail following his arrest last week for allegedly distributing brown tar heroin in south Nashville. Metro police also arrested nine of his customers on drug possession charges
Undercover Metro detectives followed Cristofer Cardenas as he made his drug delivery rounds last Thursday, selling small balloons of heroin to buyers at prearranged locations, according to police.
When they arrested Cardenas back at his apartment on Packard Drive, police said they found an assault-type rifle, a .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol and one large marijuana plant.
Cardenas is being held in jail on $125,000 bond and an immigration detainer has been placed on him.
After Cardenas made the alleged drug deals officers moved in and arrested nine of his buyers, charging them with misdemeanor heroin possession.
Those individuals include: Angela Hobbs, 26, of Nashville; Brian Head, 37, of Hendersonville; Jessica Napier, 35, of Detroit; Courtney Ingram, 36, of Nashville; Scott Batts, 49, of Mt. Juliet; Ashley Ward, 27, of Nashville; Robert Ashworth, 23, of Nashville; John Schield, 26, of Hendersonville; and Mary Ann Frazier, 33, of Nashville.
Police also charged Head, Napier, Schield and Frazier with possession of drug paraphernalia. Frazier was charged with evidence tampering for allegedly swallowing the heroin before police got to it.
The arrests were the result of a two-month long continuing investigation.
