After wining Metro Nashville’s first successful recall election to unseat a sitting Council member, Jamie Hollin will be sworn in as the new District 5 Council member Monday night.
The Metro Election Commission certified the results of the Nov. 12 special election at noon Monday.
Hollin will be sworn in by District 5 resident and General Sessions Judge Mark J. Fishburn during a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on North Second Street.
Hollin, an attorney who plans to open his own law practice on Dickerson Road, said during the campaign that he hopes to bring more jobs to the district as well as work to solve neighborhood concerns such as crime.
