The Nashville Humane Association is getting ready to break ground for a new 13,000-square-foot facility amid criticism that months of delays have been unnecessary.

The association recently hired David Johnson of Johnson, Johnson and Crabtree Architects as the project manager to build the facility on Osceola Avenue off White Bridge Road and Charlotte Pike.

While the capital campaign for $3.7 million was met close to two years ago, delays have plagued the project.
