A new Immigration and Naturalization Service facility, expected be ready in September, should offer convenience for both law enforcement officials and immigrants, a local INS agent said.

With about triple the space, the new 6,900 square-foot MetroCenter site, which is currently under construction, will replace the INS office in the Nashville International Airport.

The office, staffed with two immigration inspectors, moved into the airport when international flights were introduced a few years ago.
