A Davidson County husband and wife have filed a lawsuit against a male nurse they claim sexually assaulted the woman during an emergency room visit in July.

The couple — named as John and Jane Doe — filed suit Monday in Davidson County Circuit Court against Jeremy T. Bilbrey, now 32, of Williamson County. The lawsuit states the woman has experienced fear and anxiety, as well as incurred medical and psychological treatment expenses.

The couple seeks $500,000 in compensatory damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages.

The suit claims that on July 1, 2009, the plaintiff suffered a fall in the shower, aggravating pain she had from a previous spine surgery, and was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

Once in the emergency room where the suit claims Bilbrey was serving as the triage nurse, the couple claims Bilbrey undressed the woman, gave her morphine, fondled her and used his fingers to penetrate her.

The suit also claims Bilbrey rubbed the woman’s hand on his crotch while he said he was checking her ID bracelet.

Centennial Medical Center is also named as a defendant, stating that the hospital failed to protect the woman from “invasions of her person and privacy” by its employee.

Bilbrey is further accused of using the hospital’s records to place threatening phone calls to the woman, who later changed her phone number and moved to another residence.

Bilbrey is scheduled to appear in Davidson County Criminal Court on Aug. 23 to face two counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery.

Sounds like someone else looking for a payday. Another useless lawsuit.

incident happened last July, i believe the deadline to file suit is one year on these kind of cases. seems like they would've acted sooner and there's no mention of criminal charges at any time. hmmm.
