Metro cop faces domestic assault hearing

A 10-year veteran of the Metro Police Department is scheduled to appear in criminal court this morning on charges of misdemeanor domestic assault and felony reckless endangerment.

South Precinct School Resource Officer Lawrence Taylor was arrested in April for allegedly striking his girlfriend, Sherhonda Armstrong, 22, in the face with a cell phone, assaulting her again, and abandoning her on Briley Parkway.

Taylor had been decommissioned and removed from his position as a South Precinct School Resource Officer and reassigned to desk duty following his arrest.
