Local resident wins first $1M in McDonald’s Monopoly

The first winner in the 2009 McDonald’s Monopoly game is a Middle Tennessee resident, according to a company news release.

Players in the restaurant’s annual game enter 11-digit codes from food and beverages on a special Web site for the chance to win money and prizes. The game runs Oct. 6-Nov. 10.

An official announcement is planned for next week.

More details would be nice. I thought they were supposed to have one winner a day, starting October 6th. Does this mean they are only announcing the first winner (from 10/06/09) now, or did no one win until this late in the game?

A link to the news release would have been nice also because I can't find it anywhere on the net.
